WHAT ARE TREATMENT PLANTS AND WHO ARE THEY FOR?
Sewage treatment plants and systems are used by households and business properties that can’t be connected to, and so can’t discharge their waste water via, the mains sewage system.
These properties will needs to have a sewage treatment system to process their waste water; which will then allow them to discharge their waste safely into the local environment.
There are many different types: big, small, mechanical and non-mechanical organic treatment plants (reed beds)
Mechanical Sewage Treatment Systems
There are many different makes and types of mechanical treatment systems, such as Klargester. These are also known as packaged treatment plants.
A good system will manage the flow of waste water into the system, which will then process the ‘nasty bits’. The treated water is then released into the local environment, either into a soak-away or into a ditch/gully.
